Track of the Day: G-BRO – We Got A Song (2026)
Playing music for the fun, passion, and joy of playing music, US group Grateful BRO (also known as G-BRO) brings just the right musical combo to move, engage, and inspire audiences. The band came together during the Covid-19 pandemic, playing wherever they could, from backyards to parking lots, for all people “looking to get out and get a music fix.” Drawing together artists from diverse backgrounds, G-BRO describe themselves as being ”…unique, fun and tasty.” This is our introduction to G-BRO, and I’m curious to know what they’re all about. Join us as we jump headfirst into their single, ‘We Got A Song’.
Taken off their 2026 EP, G-BRO We Got A Song, the single has the hush of psychedelic rock but with the soulful rush of old-school funk/soul that dances across your skin with each kaleidoscopic moment. Produced and mixed by Mike Corn, ‘We Got A Song’ has a certain clarity about it – gentle, smooth and polished. Yet, each element drags you to the melding groovy vibes of a night around the campfire with your hair loose, a slink of your shoulders and a smile on your face.
Retaining a sense of duality, ‘We Got A Song’ is mature, elegant and sophisticated, but a vibrant, free-flowing attitude gives the song and audiences life. Jeff Reich’s bass boldly keeps time with Mike Corn’s keyboards, giving the track a shimmer and shine. Mike Ernst and Cliff Mays soar above with guitars – a rock-driven tone slipping into the chilled-out attitude. Yet, one of the most intriguing aspects of G-BRO and ‘We Got A Song’ is the dual drums (Jim Weingast and Andy LaDue) – each giving the track some sweetness and keeping an anchoring beat to the tune.
Finding singles that please everyone in this household isn’t that simple, yet ‘We Got A Song’ does just that. A wonderful breath of life on a rainy, dreary Monday morning, G-BRO is highly recommended!!! I cannot wait for more from this talented group.
