Kevin Walsh – Seize The Moment (2026)
With a passion for music burning in his soul, singer-songwriter Kevin Walsh found his calling at a young age. Diagnosed with autism at age five, with social anxiety and an eating disorder, the Irish musician found his voice, a sense of solace, and self-expression through his melodies. During his time studying at MTU Cork School of Music, Walsh developed what would become a signature style combining the theatrical flair of musical theatre with a rock-inspired edginess. Two years after his single ‘Ruby’, Walsh begins 2026 with the anthemic song, ‘Seize The Moment’. Retaining the bold theatrics of ‘Ruby’, the new single is filled with a greater flush of classic rock music. If you think of Meatloaf’s songs ‘I Will Do Anything For Love’ and ‘Not A Dry Eye In The House’, then you might be prepared for the dynamic sound from ‘Seize The Moment’; however, Walsh’s song has greater control as he takes you along a rollercoaster ride of full, hard-hitting highs and soft, tender breaths.
Walsh showcases his sophisticated maturity as a producer, along with Eoin Hayes on mastering and mixing duties, as ‘Seize The Moment’ burns with elegance and polish, yet there is also a sense of sincerity, vulnerability and innocence flying across the track. Inspired by his college experiences, the song “…captures the intensity of a night where love and possibility collide – one decisive dance that demands you seize the moment…”
A song of duality, the crashing drums and rock-tinged guitar bring a heavy rawness to ‘Seize The Moment’; the other side, a wave of soaring strings, inserting an orchestral clarity and precision to an “in your face” few minutes of music. The theatrical tempestuousness and head-spinning rush of emotion knock you off your feet, yet it sits in a cage of organised chaos – classical and contemporary simultaneously colliding and co-existing.
Already a fan after discovering Walsh a couple of years ago, I hoped for something larger than life in ‘Seize The Moment’; Walsh has not disappointed.
