Night Wolf + Lois Powell – Unstoppable (2026)

My previous review of Night Wolf’s musical offerings – ‘Death of the Wolf’ – ended with the hope of another collaboration between producer Night Wolf and songstress Lois Powell; here we have it. Their second step into 2026, and third collaborative project, the UK-based pair delve into the realm of alternative pop once again, but with a bit of redirection in the single ‘Unstoppable’.

Just under four-and-a-half minutes long, the track seems somewhat less cinematic and haunting than ‘Death of the Wolf’ and ‘Lost My Way Home’ – at least, a bit more grit and energy curbs the angelic vocals and orchestral sweeps. Produced and recorded by Night Wolf, ‘Unstoppable’ holds that intimacy and vulnerability heard in his other work; the insight into heart and soul. Yet, while you have the chance to walk through Night Wolf and Lois Powell’s world, the sophisticated crafting of ‘Unstoppable’ kicks any naivety, immaturity or uncertainty to the side with a significant nod.

Beautifully arranged to act like a soothing wash of music, synths delicately move along with Powell’s siren-like vocals dancing atop the sound, but also dip into the track. A way of dragging you into the poignant theme and holding your hands like a guide in the dark. Soft, gentle and charming, with the clip of a skin-tingling etherealness, I once again became lost in Powell’s tones; however, it is the weaving of strings with contemporary synths and that awesome voice that ups the ante.

Strings soar, a choir harks in the background, electronica peeps, and a soulful, almost trip-hop vibe oozes from the melody. Not necessarily obscure or off-kilter, but something memorable in its own, unique way, ‘Unstoppable’ uses its resilient but fragile sound to carry the “mood, motion, and release” in a powerful single, placing “themes of distance, return and fragile hope” with dramatic conviction and resilience.

Once again, I wait with bated breath for another from this unstoppable pair.
