Novo Grey – My Life Is You (2026)
Delving into the truths between those threads of everyday life, Novo Grey expresses human emotion, experience, and sometimes forgotten moments with his music. Formed in 2024, the Swiss singer-songwriter chose to defy that “traditional template” of adulting by purchasing an electronic paper in his late 40s and, well, just making music. He wants to learn new things, find new experiences, and has begun a sonic journey that’ll take him and audiences… well, who knows where. Join us as we take a tentative step with his single, ‘My Life Is You’.
Unafraid to bring personal narratives and intimate experiences to his music, Novo Grey shares songs that “transport them to fantasy worlds, confront them with my cynicism, or simply speak directly to them. The message is often different for each listener, because that’s precisely what characterises many of my lyrics, whether in German or English.” As such, ‘My Life Is You’ is not merely a listening experience but an immersive one.
Instead of stepping into a sonic forest, ‘My Life Is You’ is the comfortable campfire where you sit with old friends to share drinks and stories. The soaring guitar sweeps across like the warm scent of the fire and the laughter of the people. Steady drums beat in the background, keeping pace, almost an anchor in the easy-listening tune. A clip of piano creeps in, lingering in the back but holding its own, like the breeze that brushes back your hair.
A strong classic rock vibe exudes from the guitar – its rise and fall in the solo about halfway through ‘My Life Is You’. Here you have your best friend standing up, toasting the group, and setting smiles on people’s faces. However, at least forme, the song isn’t about that toast; it’s about the tender caresses, hugs, and glances of people who love each other. Sincere, sentimental, and a perfect song to set your mind and heart at ease, I highly recommend ‘My Life Is You’. This is the debut from Novo Grey, and I am eager to hear more.
