Razor Burn – Into The Void (2025)
Fast, heavy but always melodic, rock band Razor Burn fuses the spirit of classic rock, the ferocity of hard rock, and the grittiness of grunge in their passionate songs. Borne from the underground venues and dive bars in Australia, the high-energy Melbourne-based group proves that good music transcends time, space, and generations – this is what they offer. Already known for their confident and energetic performances, Razor Burn hit Spotify earlier this year with the single, ‘Avow’; however, you don’t need to be at the gig to enjoy Razor Burn’s rambunctious presence. Join us as we sit back and prepare for their sophomore single, ‘Into The Void’.
Following the debut single, ‘Avow’, and one of the tracks off their upcoming album, ‘Into The Void’ leans further toward the heavier flavour of rock than the previous single. Influenced by the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and Rise Against, Razor Burn captures the ferocity of 90s and early 2000s hard rock in ‘Into The Void’. Produced with Ashane’, the single is, in a word, immense. Crashing drums meet a bold bass and soaring guitar to hit you between the eyes with its chaotic music; however, while it is a hurricane of kaleidoscopic sound, there appears to be sincerity lilting through the track.
Melodically, ‘Into The Void’ is an immersive rush of hard rock music washing over you, spinning you about, sending tingles across your skin, a chill down your back, and reaching into your soul. The instrumentation is forceful, as are the powerful vocals, but those rich vocals scream moving lyrics and act like an old friend holding your hand, guiding you from the bad to the good, and giving you a wink once you reach the end.
Aptly named, ‘Into The Void’ is a jump into the mire of life – a crashing look at our grim reality. Yet, for some reason, this rush of rock music is a refreshing breath of relief, having come through the void, cleansed on the other side.
