Sabina Chantouria – Changes (2025)

With over fifteen years in the music industry, turning heads across the globe with critically acclaimed music, confident performances at festivals, winning international awards such as the 2024 Caucasus Music Awards “Artist of the Year”, receiving international airtime such as having her songs played on British Airways, and building a loyal global following, Sabina Chantouria has placed her stamp on the music industry as a bold, beautiful musician. We came across the Swedish-Georgian singer-songwriter a couple of years ago with the award-winning song ‘Echoes’ – a powerful indie-folk melody. Today, we take a gander at her most recent release, ‘Changes’.

While ‘Echoes’ was a nostalgic walk through memories as the “echoes of life”, ‘Changes’ turns the other cheek and focuses on rebirth, rejuvenation, and the acceptance of change. Chantouria explains:

“’Changes’ is about finding the strength to grow and trusting the unknown, even when the path isn’t clear… You can’t stop what’s coming – it’s coming anyway. Changes are here to stay.”

While the lyrics are infectious and those that you find yourself singing at any time of day – in the shower, when travelling home from work, when cooking a meal, or just randomly – the calm words are weighty within their light-heartedness. Elegantly executed by Chantouria with her rich, velvety vocals, the lyrics are profound and heartfelt. Interestingly, the vocals are veiled by the instrumentation yet retain prominence and weightiness throughout the melody.

Produced by David Jenkins and joined by a stellar list of musicians within the industry, Chantouria weaves her warm tones in a kaleidoscopic layer upon layer of guitars, drums, piano and bass – all bound in a harmonic symphony. Bob Gother’s soaring guitar entwines with Jorgen Carlsson’s bass guitar, while Kenny Aronoff adds his powerful drums. Ed Roth’s piano seems to infiltrate with an enchanting warmth, but it is Doug Pettibone’s slide guitar that offers a country kick to ‘Changes’.

In addition to the single, Sabina Chantouria released an official music video for ‘Changes’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
