Track of the Day: Felix and The Sunsets – The Mushroom Song
Alternative rock band Felix and The Sunsets are back with another single ‘The Mushroom Song’ from their upcoming EP funded by Creative Scotland. Their influences are Frank Zappa, Santana, The Velvet Underground and David Bowie. The group has had many reviews on blogs and also radio airplay.
The track starts with a very heavy rock sound, it sounds like the 60s/70s rock and roll. The vocals are amazing; he sings about wanting to reach the other side and how he drank some mushroom tea and his mind went wrong – he’s been on a bit of a trip. the bass line is very strong and captivating, the drumbeat is great, the guitar riffs are catchy and the lyrics are amazing. It’s got a very feel-good heavy rock sound and it leaves you wanting to listen on repeat.
