Violet Love – Airport Road (2026)
Originally from New Jersey, but currently based in Michigan, singer-songwriter Violet Love embodies honesty, intimacy, and authenticity in her original melodies. Raised on a diet of Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles and Billy Joel, and all those classic artists that hit people in the feels, Violet Love shares that “music has always been a part of my life”, and she offers that musical flame to listeners. While this might be my introduction to Violet Love, she has turned heads for some time across her native USA and Europe.
Following her 2025 EP, Destined To Fail, Violet Love confidently saunters into 2026 with ‘Airport Road’. An entirely DIY artist focused on individuality and authenticity, Violet Love handles every aspect of her creativity, working from a home studio. With ‘Airport Road’, she showcases her talent with a polished, mature, honed single; however, a glint of youthful innocence and vulnerability is also evident. For me, this is particularly evident in her gritty vocals, which have the bad-ass attitude of Alanis Morissette with the tenderness of Fiona Apple.
Vocally, there is a honey-soaked roughness in ‘Airport Road’, but the track is so much more than Violet Love’s intriguing voice. Melodically, the song is soothing and easy on the ears; a smooth guitar harmonically woven into the steady drums and solid bass. It’s chilled and oddly tranquil – kind of like a refreshing breath on a dull day. Interestingly, this soothing alternative rock tune aligns beautifully with the theme of the song. Violet Love explains:
“’Airport Road’ is a song about finding where you belong and never looking back. Specifically, the belonging I’ve found by proposing to my fiancé and getting to be a part of his family. I hope everyone who hears this song can feel that love reflected in my music and experience that love in their own lives.”
I wouldn’t say ‘Airport Road’ is vibrant or vivid, but a palpable joy wanders along the track. The single leaves a smile on my face and a song in my heart, and I really can’t wait for more from Violet Love.
