blue pablo – laundromats in the night time (2026)
Inspired by the likes of Lana Del Rey, singer-songwriter blue pablo captivates audiences with a sound that teeters between hazy dream-pop and wistful indie-pop. One might consider it a little alternative, while others could mark his sound as quintessentially synthy pop-ness. Whatever your preference or definition, blue pablo is a musician to calm the nerves, soothe the soul, but still kick things up with edgy content. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘laundromats in the night time’.
Produced by Mateo Gutierrez, ‘laundromats in the night time’ is, as is distinctive of blue pablo, a wash of styles, sounds and vibes. Like spinning about in the washing machine during a night at the laundromat, the melody shifts from dreamy synths and hazy beats to a bolder, more defined push of soaring guitars, steady drums, and what I think is some percussion, although I may be wrong. It’s rise and fall, swoop and slide, to and fro, and push and pull nature isn’t just a creative, kaleidoscopic ride; no, it is that out-of-body-not-in-reality drunkenness keeping you tipsy without fully losing consciousness.
Now, melodically, ‘laundromats in the night time’ presents a chance to lose your senses and submit in blissful relaxation, but there is a poignant weightiness that makes this sensational song far more profound. blue pablo explains:
“When I lived in LA, back in 2023, I found myself often doing the same mundane things every weekend. Going to wash clothes at the laundromats and then driving to the beach, all at night. I became sort of depressed during my time living there and started to notice how nothing really felt real. I started getting depersonalisation syndrome, which inspired me to write this song, which takes you through one of those many nights…”
Sincere? Potentially. Insightful? Highly likely. Exciting and entertaining? Definitely. For me, ‘laundromats at night time’ is a song of confusion and dazed whimsy; however, it is also intricate, elegant and emotional. I am eager to hear more from this talented artist.
