Caxiel – Out of Time (2022)

With his single ‘No Love’, Caxiel took his emotions following a breakup and transformed them into a decadent melody and painfilled lyrics. He continues to use his emotions for this single ‘Out of Time’ which is all about reliving the past while simultaneously dreading the future. Packed with missed opportunities and the relentless passage of time, the single considers the fear of both success and failure.

While tapping into the duality of our emotions, he also looks at something a little closer to home by sliding into the loneliness of being an artist and living a very different life from everyone else. Inspired by his own worries, losses, gains and victories, the personal touch of the single makes it easy to connect with and more honest. Swirling around the emotions and thoughts of the single are retro synths that bolster the overall mood of the track.

‘Out of Time’ has a dance move to the opening that hits you with the thrumming beats. There is a serious energy to the melody from the first moment that doesn’t let up for a single second. The dance beats lead you into the retro synths that have a rather epic and grand feeling to them as they rise into the stratosphere. Following this rise, there is a dip in the music for a quiet moment with Caxiel’s vocals. The synths make a comeback with a grand pulse of sound that pushes you out of the dip and into the main movement of the single. There are a lot of elements in the melody that have been masterfully arranged to work together while bringing the mood of the single. Later in the track, the synths take over for the bridge drawing you into an almost nebulous space before the dance vibes come back.

It is not only the melody that brings the mood and energy of the track as Caxiel’s vocals push with a dance energy. His performance has a serious dance vibe to it that makes your body want to move. While there is a modern vibe to his performance, there is also a heavy dose of retro vibes that links the past and present of the lyrics. Through the lyrics, he considers the highs and lows of life as well as the fears and worries that come with thinking about the future or worrying about what happened in the past. Combined with the melody, the vocals bring the perfect balance of unease about the future while also trying to avoid falling into the past.

Caxiel brings a dance vibe to some retro synths while considering dreading the future and trying to avoid reliving the past in ‘Out of Time’. The melody brings the first touches of emotion to the single with a sense of unease that you can’t seem to shake woven into the dance beats. The vocals add to the dance vibes while offering the true feelings of the track and the worries that are easy to relate to.
