A change in life can leave you feeling adrift and struggling to find a way to thrive in a place of loneliness. This is something that Joe Wilkinson is deeply familiar with and has turned into his hard-hitting single ‘Let Me Know’. Written out of a feeling of frustration at the situation he was in, the single looks at existing in a place of loneliness when surrounded by people and learning how to thrive in this tough environment.

Packed with thought-provoking lyrics wrapped in his eclectic style, the single pounds into you, while cementing his place as an artist you shouldn’t skip over. Since he started his musical journey, Wilkinson has played over 500 shows across three countries and worked with Lauren Daigle on the Berlin leg of her European tour. His emotive writing style and polished musicality led to him winning Songslams in Berlin.

‘Let Me Know’ shines with a wonderful folk-rock vibe that tumbles into your senses and overtakes your brain. There is a dark feeling woven into the melody that creates the lonely space that inspired the track. The melody drops just before the chorus, only to rise with a burst of extremely engaging sound. The roll of the guitar throughout the melody is a pleasure to hear as it runs down your spine. The drums have an addictive bounce to them that lightly takes your shoulders and gets them to move. Wilkinson has woven a rich tapestry of sound that rolls through you with an unstoppable force. While the melody creates the lonely space that threatens to overwhelm you, the guitars provide an anchor of strength that lets you know you can thrive in the darkness.

As you get hopelessly hooked to the melody, Wilkinson’s vocals slide with a dark growl in the opening verse. Through the opening verse, he pushes against the people who cut ties and leave you adrift without a care. He has woven an angered frustration into his performance that perfectly bolstered the feeling of the opening verse. The bitterness and frustration that sprinkled the opening verse drops for the second verse which builds up your strength. There is a marching stomp to his performance that leads you to the chorus that is packed with catchy lyrics and empowerment. Wilkinson lets you know that you can use the darkness around you to your advantage, to thrive in the face of adversity and overcome the tough situation you find yourself in.

Joe Wilkinson wraps an addictive folk-rock melody around frustrated vocals that turn into a push of empowerment in tough situations in ‘Let Me Know’. The melody is a masterclass of dark sounds that swirls with the dark feelings of loneliness, anger and frustration. Rising from this space are his vocals that hit out with a bitter edge, only to turn into strength and the understanding that you can thrive in the face of adversity.
