Josy B – Crush (2022)

Inspired by artists like Madonna and Mariah Carey, singer-songwriter Josy B fuses passionate pop with soulful RnB in her unique music. With over a decade in the music industry, Josy B has had several songs released in television and film; however, it is her original releases that we are interested in. Already featured on The Other Side Reviews with her track ‘BTW’, she has turned our heads and made us smile. We are not the only ones singing her praises. With coverage from Illustrate Magazine, Plastic Magazine, Streamline Music Review, Stereo Stickman, and various playlists, Josy B is intoxicating audiences on an international scale. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Crush’.

Following her critically acclaimed track ‘BTW’, the upcoming Puerto Rican singer releases her commercial pop single ‘Crush’. Highly reminiscent of Mariah Carey, Josy B adopts a nostalgic tone in ‘Crush’ nodding to the pop sounds of the 1990s. Yet, while there is a retro-pop style, there is also a contemporary flair to ‘Crush’ making the track fresh but with a vintage flavour.

Recorded with renowned producer Travis House (Pitbull, Mario, Scott Storch), ‘Crush’ is a concoction of catchy music ready for all audiences. Moreover, while the melody speaks to listeners, the poetic lyricism is also highly relatable. With a personal narrative running through the lyrics, Josy B connects with audiences on an intimate level touching on the evocative side of romantic relationships. She explains that the song “was inspired by trials and tribulations in her love life…”

Refreshing and bright, ‘Crush’ is an elegant melody sprinkled with a whimsical quality. Sincere, sentimental and honest, the song easily ensnares your senses and sends your soul soaring on a sonic cloud.
