Nick Cody and the Heartache meld blues, folk and soul-rock for their single ‘You Gotta Move’. Written by Cody during the pandemic, he combines his musical prowess with that of his ensemble band. Each musician adds a blast of brilliance to the captivating fusion of sound.

While one of over forty new tracks created by Cody, the brilliance of his songwriting shines with a unique light through this track. Following his debut, Cody and his band are here to spark your brain and get you moving to their sound. With a touch of Santana mixed into the slides of Steely Dan, the band keeps you hooked from start to finish.



‘You Gotta Move’ has a rather chilled yet groovy opening that has you swaying to the rhythm. There is a great blues slide to the melody with twinkles of folk in the higher levels. Each instrument is distinct and brings its own edge to the music while merging together for a soulful movement. It is a really amazing arrangement that captures your senses and draws you into the river of sound. While there is a chilled vibe to the track, the music has a movement that hooks your limbs and gets you swaying, at the very least.

As you move to the music, the vocals are silken as they slip into your ears and encourage you to open up to the world and let your spirit grow. There is a rather uplifting message woven into the lyrics that sinks into your soul through the vocal performance. The harmonising backing vocals add depth to the performance while bringing a touch of soul-rock to the track. Every element of the melody bolsters the vocals while the different lines intertwine to create a really addictive track. You will be filled with the impulse to turn the volume up and blare this track as you listen.
