Proklaim – REASON 2 BELIEVE (2023)

Cutting to the core of carpe diem, singer-songwriter Proklaim brings a sense of independence through his revolutionary anthems. Hailing from Uganda and now based in Namibia, Proklaim has been recording music for over a decade reaching audiences across the globe. From France to Ireland, the UK to the USA, he has turned heads on international publications, playlists, and radio stations and even appeared on MTV. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘REASON 2 BELIEVE’.

Hot on the heels of his tracks ‘all eyez’ and ‘LOVE HIGHWAY’, Proklaim tips his hat to 90s rap and RnB in ‘REASON 2 BELIEVE’. Quickly hearing the influence of Tupac in his rapping style, a rawness slithers through clear, sophisticated tones. Interestingly, just as Tupac-inspired music flows through the infectious verses, a slip to RnB soothing oozes in the catchy chorus. While the transition from brash abruptness to smooth gentleness is moving, there is a stable factor – the richness of Proklaim’s bold vocals.

Recorded in Namibia and mixed in Florida by Lu DIAZ, the single sensationally captures the essence of 90s rap and hip-hop. Yet, while ‘REASON 2 BELIEVE’ gives a nostalgic whiff there is a contemporary edginess. Profound as a melody, the thought-provoking nature of ‘REASON 2 BELIEVE’ floods the poetic lyricism. A soulful song, Proklaim tells us to listen to our instincts and find your purpose with those powerful gut reactions. He explains that we should “follow intuition, the stirring in your chest is often true to your purpose” – this is elegantly portrayed in the inspiring ‘REASON 2 BELIEVE’.
