Resting in the summer sounds is a call for people to come together and stay positive. While this is the top message of the track, there is much more resting beneath the waves, with an enlightening twist that can be found in all The Mess:Age’s music.
The Mess:Age is a dynamic musical group that has a mission in their music. Glen Brandon “Ziggy”, the charismatic vocalist of the band, is accompanied by Paul Gold on bass and Jaime Page on guitar. With a fusion sound that melds different rock influences, they are captivating listeners not only with their melodies, but with the deeper messages that rise from the depths of their tracks.
The light line of sound rolls along the shoreline in the opening of the track for a gentle touch that transports you to the beach. The call of seagulls adds to the immersion of the track, but this all drops for a deep beat and retro touch. The melody has an 80s rock feeling to it, but there is also something very modern to it all. You can tell there is an influence of beach-style pop-rock, but this is tempered by something that is more modern and uplifting.
As you ride the movements of the music, you can feel the ocean air on your skin and the freedom that comes from it. The escapism of the melody gets a reality check through the lyrics. Within the lyrics is an understanding of the darker feelings that we all have at times. While this brings the feeling of the song down a little, it is soothed by the deeper message of the lyrics that brings us all together. It is a very hopeful and uplifting track that slowly fills a balloon of good vibes in your chest.
