Track of the Day: Guidi – Sleeping Boy
Hailing from the Czech Republic, we have the insatiable Guidi. An alt-pop artist releasing her debut album in May, but until then we have ‘Sleeping Boy’. Released in February 2020, this is a more synth-based and electronic track from the award-winning artist. It is a swirl of strong bass lines with atmospheric synths.
One of the most interesting aspects of ‘Sleeping Boy’ is the cohesion between sound and concept. The track’s lyrics tell of a young boy who is constrained by societal expectations and this is carefully expressed, not only through words but the whirlpool of sound. The track has received airtime on radios throughout the globe and should be blasted from your speakers.
