Audiosvora – Motion (2026)
Self-described as “from hardbass to metalcore in five seconds”, Hungary-based Audiosvora is a band that will grab you at your scruff, twirl you about, push you from side to side, turn you upside down, and leave you gasping – a bit of a sonic trip. While the foursome is based in Budapest, their members are international, hailing from Russia, Hungary, and Colombia, and draw influences from diverse cultures. This is my introduction to Audiosvora, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect. All I know is the amusing self-description. So, let’s start Monday with a bang by listening to their latest single, ‘Motion’.
Following the crashing, ear-splitting rush of metal in ‘Take Me To The Hospital’, Audiosvora retain the heavy metal push in ‘Motion’. Produced by vocalist Victor Smirnov, with mixing and mastering by Yauheni Haidalenak, ‘Motion’ is exactly what it says on the tin: a hurried, urgent rush of motion. Kolos Szipster’s drums crash and pound, while Fabian Leonardo Pimentel León’s bass guitar pulsates, dancing alongside the drums. Attila Szekeres’ guitar slices, soars, swerves, and roars in kaleidoscopic ferocity, as Smirnov’s vocals seem to swoop across the track with powerful screams.
While the track has a unified attitude, each instrument demands attention to enjoy the wrath of ‘Motion’ fully. Pressing, pushing and made for the mosh pit, the lads hit you straight between the eyes individually, but dance across your skin in melodic harmony. As I mentioned, the song is all about motion – movement to keep from disintegrating. Audiosvora explain:
“The song is built around a simple idea: we need to keep moving in order not to fall apart. Like a complex system or mechanism that begins to deteriorate when it stops moving, a person needs motion to keep functioning. In ‘Motion’, moving doesn’t necessarily mean trying to reach a final destination. Movement is necessary in itself – as long as the system keeps moving, it holds together.”
So, my overall opinion of Audiosvora? Not for the faint-hearted.
