C’batch – Trapped (I’m Doing Fine) (2026)
When C’batch first released ‘Trapped (I’m Doing Fine)’, it was an instrumental track that flowed with a hypnotic groove. He has now reworked his original track, adding lyrics and soulful vocals while enhancing it for greater depth and clarity. The new version of the track takes the musicality of C’batch to another level.
‘Trapped (I’m Doing Fine)’ opens with a twang and beat that makes you want to instantly bob your head. The beat continues to drive you forward with a gentle swirl. The music rises with the vocals on the chorus, but there is still something in the lower notes that continues to move around your senses, keeping you hooked. It is a very addictive melody that keeps some part of your body moving, whether a tapping foot, a slight nod of your head or a slink of the shoulders. The guitars come into their own later in the track, causing you to close your eyes and really soak up the movement.
As the music dances around your senses, C’batch’s vocals are a smooth and silken thread that hooks into your chest to tug you forward. The richness of his voice is a perfect accompaniment to the music, acting as an instrument of its own. While you ride the waves of the vocals, the story of the lyrics filters into your brain. There is a positive message woven into the lyrics that brings an uplifting feeling. While a lightness gently sparks in your chest, this is tempered by a reflective edge that makes you really want to sit back and contemplate everything the song has to offer.
While the original instrumental version of this track is fantastic, there is something uniquely wonderful about this version. The interplay between the lyrics, vocals and music takes everything to another level where you sink into the message while riding the pure musicality of the artist. It is a showcase of what he is capable of and really leaves you wanting more by the end of it.
