EGGER – Get Up (2026)
Through the sythnwave tones of ‘Get Up’, EGGER is bringing retro sonic aesthetics into a retro-futuristic world. If you’ve never dived into his music before, this is the perfect track to get started since it is the ideal introduction to his musical terrain. Balancing analogue imperfections with experimental electronica and just a little digital friction, he gets your heart pumping while exploring a new state of mindful awareness.
The heart of EGGER, an electro-experimental project by Wolfgang Egger, lives in a space where darkness, minimalism and philosophy converge into something much bigger than its individual parts. ‘Get Up’ opens with a chanting call that reaches out of the ether with an almost meditative calm. This vocal line is met by a deep trance beat that pounds against your ears and has your heart pumping to its rhythm. The steady movement of the melody is echoed by the almost chant of the lyrics.
As the single progresses, that beat continues to march you further and further into the soundscape. Along the path, analogue synth tones pulse like bright lights in the corner of your vision. There is a feeling of steady progression through the melody that appears to be leading you to something, but you aren’t quite sure.
Things swerve slightly as higher and lighter tones enter the soundscape, and that opening vocal line makes a reappearance. The combination of the different tones creates a mindful space that you start to sink into. It is almost like a meditative space that you can relax into. It is interesting because the beats of the music make one part of your brain think you are heading into dance territory, but the steadiness of the groove has you sinking into a mantra of mindful awareness. It is like your senses are expanding while settling at the same time and it has been really masterfully executed.
As the song comes to an end, you realise you have been taken on a sonic journey. The track beckoned you in before marching you along a path of steady calmness, before you are hit with a sense of peace and renewal at the end.
