Faana – Stop Running (2022)

Embracing his passion for music at an early age, singer-songwriter Faana found himself touring with his dad at age 5, playing the guitar at age 10, and setting up a band in his teenage years. While this is my introduction to Czechia native Faana, he is already an established act touring as part of a Beatles cover band and now releasing original music as a solo act. Intrigued by the creativity of the London live circuit, Faana found himself being signed by the iconic Marquee Records to release fresh, captivating sounds. Come with us as we delve into his debut single ‘Stop Running’.

Described as passionate, soulful, vibrant and energetic by numerous blogs, Faana is quickly building a strong following across the globe. Fusing the rock sounds of yesteryear, ‘Stop Running’ is a reflective track wrapped in a modern-day indie-rock package. A melodic arrangement of pounding drums and powerful guitars belie Faana’s bold vocals. Actually, there is a textured harmony between all elements like a sonic thread woven together to create a kaleidoscopic tapestry. While there is a bopping ambience to ‘Stop Running’, the nod to 70s rock is strongly evident in Faana’s outstanding guitar solo – I just had to mention that.

Touching on the topic of the troubles happening to his neighbouring country of Ukraine, ‘Stop Running’ is a song of peace. Faana explains that “…I wanted to deliver a poignant message to everyone who is fleeing the war zone. ‘Stop Running’ is a message of peace because once you reach peaceful lands…you can stop fleeing and make a better life.” Intimate, profound and obscure, ‘Stop Running’ is not only a song about the war but also a hopeful light at the end of a tunnel.

So, what can I say about Faana? The first word that pops to mind is outstanding, but he is so much more bringing a refreshing sound to the UK music scene.
