Jordan Jones – Stumble (2022)

Influenced by the likes of Ed Sheeran, Khalid, Justin Bieber, Halsey and The Weeknd, singer-songwriter Jordan Jones is taking contemporary pop to another level. Performing at notable festivals such as The Open Sky Music Festival and iconic venues like Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom and Edmonton’s The Starlight Room, Jones has built a reputation for engaging gigs. Not only is he turning heads at shows, but Jones is also turning heads in the blogosphere featuring on RGM, YMX, Sinusoidal Music, Roadie Music and HipHop Paranoia. The latest addition to his critically acclaimed discography is ‘Stumble’.

With over ten years in the music industry, Jones knows how to make good songs and ‘Stumble’ is another good song. Following his debut track ‘Break My Heart’ (read our review here), ‘Stumble’ is filled with chilled-out vibes. Using a heavily synth-laden melody, the track takes you through a hazy forest of electropop in a kaleidoscopic soundscape. Finding the space between Justin Bieber, The Weeknd and Ed Sheeran, ‘Stumble’ has a soothing pop softness tinged with an edgy contemporary RnB style.

While the melody is one to captivate your senses with its sensational texturing, it is Jones’ vocals that make the track. Rich, bold and heart-warming, his tender tones flow through your veins and allow the soul to soar. The bounciness and joviality of the harmonic arrangement is breath-taking and aligns so well with the theme of the track – love. The thing is, while the overall concept is love and a new relationship, Jones explores the less “honeymoon phase” side of things.

Showcasing his depth and connection to listeners, ‘Stumble’ is a brutally honest and intimate dive into romance. We all make mistakes in our relationships and Jones points out the importance of being accountable for the errors. The significance of open communication and mutual understanding when we stumble.

“…We all make mistakes in a relationship so ‘Stumble’ is about being accountable for those mistakes and having the open communication to level up together.” – Jordan Jones on ‘Stumble’

Insatiable, intoxicating, uplifting and inspiring, Jordan Jones hits it out of the park once again with his new track. I cannot wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.
