Michelle Sara – Like A Thief (2026)

Music means many different things to different people. For some, it’s the breath of air taking you away from your worries. For others, it helps you contemplate and explore the intricacies of reality. For even more, it’s the place of memories and brings comfort to scary places. For Michelle Sara, making music is “creating a world out of nothing, where every memory and feeling becomes part of the story.” The latest addition to this musical journey is the single, ‘Like A Thief’.

Following her singles ‘Diseara’ and ‘Forever’, ‘Like A Thief’ is a solid pop song made for the radio, although it is also the track people jump about to at a festival. Soft, soothing and brimming with warmth and hearty smiles, listening to ‘Like A Thief’ is like walking across a sonic field with the sun beating down and a sweet smell of flowers wafting in the air. A sweep of anchoring drums meets soaring guitars with a twinkle of keyboards shimmering in the background. The track is… well, lovely. Yet, while ‘Like A Thief’ is a heart-warming breath of air on a dull Thursday, the theme revolves around difficult relationships and the need to find yourself instead of losing yourself. Michelle Sara explains:

“’Like A Thief’… explores the idea of karma, calling out those who take endlessly while giving nothing in return, often playing the victim card. The song reflects on self-worth and the strength in stepping back, letting actions speak louder than words.”

This is the first Michelle Sara song to cross my path, and I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew it would be pop, but would it be among those superficial commercial pop songs where one sounds exactly like the other? Not really, but at the same time I can place ‘Like A Thief’ in the rotation of tunes on Heart Radio. Her vocals are obscure and lend to a distinctive sound, but I’m not sure if she’ll stand out on my playlist. I’m going to keep my eye on Michelle Sara and let her music take me where it will. I suggest you jump on board.
