Rae Radick – Sorry’s Not Good Enough (2021)

Relationships end for many reasons from the couple falling out of love to them realising that their dreams are pulling them in different directions. There are also times when the push and pull becomes toxic and this has been picked up by Rae Radick in her single ‘Sorry’s Not Good Enough’. With a blend of country and pop, she considers the battle of internal voices that erupts when a relationship comes to an end.

This blend of sound is not new from Radick as she has always paired her country roots with pop sensibilities. Bringing her experience as a touring member of the American Bombshells, she fills you with the strength to walk away. The push and pull of the single is easy for many people to relate to while the music has you groove to her sonic blend.

‘Sorry’s Not Good Enough’ has a really infectious country strum to the opening that makes your foot tap whether you want it to or not. The lower levels of the melody are all infectious country while the pulsing guitar leads you to a poppy chorus. The guitar riffs that fill the background of the melody continue the blending of genres with a sound of country and pop. There is a rather easy vibe to the music that you get hooked to. While filled with easy vibes the foot-tapping quality has you wanting to groove to the music.

Over the tapping melody, Radick’s vocals continue the blending of sounds. There is a delightful country twang to her vocals that turns into a melodic pop tone on the chorus. Through her performance, you are drawn into the push and pull of the end of the relationship. She takes you through situations that make you want to leave only to fill you with adoration and love. However, this gives way to a solid strength that lets you walk away from this rather toxic situation.

Rae Radick has you tapping to her blended sound while filling you with the strength to walk away from a toxic relationship in ‘Sorry’s Not Good Enough’. Both the melody and vocals have a twang of country to them that gives way to a pop chorus. The arrangement is infectious and you do get lost it the song leaving you shocked when it comes to an end.
