RISE – Hard To Leave You (2026)

RISE is bringing their live energy to our ears with the single ‘Hard To Leave You’. A track focused on the theme of a relationship ending or not, it offers an energetic and aggressive tone with ambiguous lyrics. A remix of their 2024 version of the track, this release fully captures their vision of the song with emotive vocals and detailed guitar lines.

The four-piece band from Liverpool is known for the intense energy of their performances and their distinctive sound. They have been making waves across the rock scene and this song will give you a taste of why. As a band driven by melodic hooks and seamless sonic layering, their sound is instantly recognisable while extremely captivating.

The energy from the band hits you from the first note as a rush of beats sweeps into your chest. There is an 80’s synth vibe to the melody that shimmers throughout the track in the higher levels of the sound. This sound is met by the rock-pop stylings of the band that have you bouncing your head to their rhythm. It is a very well-blended melody that brings the different aspects of the sonic layers together for a continuous forward momentum.

Riding the rush of the melody are the vocals that are smooth yet extremely emotive. The verses have a tender touch as they bring the story of the lyrics to life. The verses are packed with lyrics focusing on the feeling that could lead to the dissolution of a relationship. The chorus is a shouting of the deeper feelings. There is a very catchy vibe to the chorus that will get it stuck in your head after you have started shouting out along with the band.

Mixed into everything is that guitar work, which comes into its own with a wonderful solo. As the track progresses, the guitar shines more and more as the movement heads toward alternative rock territory. By the end of the track, you won’t feel any sense of closure to the tale, but you will feel your chest brimming with the emotions that have been woven into it.

The band has also released a music video for the track that brings the emotive ambiguity to visual life. The video has an overlay that remains for the majority that makes it feel like you are looking through memories or diving into someone’s brain. The couple at the centre of the lyrics are a constant across the video, while the background has alternating images of the band and general backgrounds. Each movement within the video matches the emotions and lyrics of the song, elevating the overall experience.
