Rich Webb & The Liars – Peace With Bombs (No No No) (2026)
Needless to say, the world is full of inequality, exploitation, discrimination, and abundant injustice; however, while the greedy world leaders stand behind this insanity, some people still have hope, want peace, and are willing to make a difference. One timeless and universal way of getting a message across, inspiring people, and pushing change is through music. We had ‘Fortunate Son’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Edwin Starr’s ‘War’, and today we turn up the volume with Rich Webb & The Liars’ new single, ‘Peace With Bombs (No No No)’.
Following the 2025 singles ‘Mess Of It’ and ‘Hummingbird (for Brett Whiteley)’, Rich Webb & The Liars drag us back to the 1990s indie-rock scene in ‘Peace With Bombs (No No No)’. Like a sonic tapestry, each instrument in the track adds a particular thread to the overall track. Jim Carden’s drums run along with a bright red sheen – pounding but also a steady pulse. James McHugh’s dynamic bass burns with blue light. Matt Dixon’s lead guitar glistens with an eye-catching silver, swerving across yet holding you close with its sound. Rich Webb’s sons, Henry Webb and Alfie Webb, peep from the background with an organ and trumpet (respectively), as Rich Webb’s vocals enhance the gleam of ‘Peace With Bombs (No No No)’.
Melodically, the track is charming, both bold and vulnerable, loud and soft, bombastic and subdued; however, the theme is what adds further weight. The band explain:
”…Rich entitled men in countries around the world continue to send off young people – but not their young people, someone else’s – to bomb and kill in other countries, for their own political power and financial gain… What it will do is create bitter enemies out of those you have just bombed. Even if they may have supported you before the bombing… It’s been the same for centuries. It has got to stop.”
