Rosenthal – A Dream (2026)

Should you take a shine to the likes of New Order, My Bloody Valentine or Cocteau Twins, the chances are you might be interested in Rosenthal. The brainchild of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeppe Kiel Revsbech, Rosenthal swiftly glides across fields of pop and rock, elegantly creating songs with the heaviness of alternative rock and the light airiness of dream-pop. Hailing from Denmark, his music has been described as experimental and gripping – although I leave you to make up your mind about him. So, to experience Rosenthal and form your opinion of his work, join us as we delve into his single, ‘A Dream’.

The second track from his much-anticipated debut album, Luna, set for release in May, ‘A Dream’ is a few minutes of shimmering dream pop with tinges of heavier indie-rock. Co-produced with Magnus Vad at Feedback Studios in Aarhus, Denmark, the single is, in a word, eclectic. While the track opens with a bold blend of Revsbech’s guitar, bass and synthesiser, Ask Kjaergaard’s swift guitar, and Asker Bjork’s drums, the heaviness of its pop-infused wave is only half of the track. After a quick dip in the arrangement about mid-way, the final minute or so slides to something simplistic, defying the kaleidoscopic tone.

Shifting from the heavy to a hushed wind of synths and guitar, ‘A Dream’ oscillates between tension and smooth ease; powerful force and intimate delicacy. When speaking about ‘A Dream’, Rosenthal explains:

“‘A Dream’ is my attempt to write a song of comfort and optimism for myself. It’s about envisioning a bright future despite anxiety and inner chaos. Musically, I wanted to play with sharp dynamics, shifting between heavy, guitar-driven verses and a soft, intimate chorus. The song came together very quickly and intuitively, which I feel gives it a certain flow and lightness that I really like.

Before the single is released on May 8th, along with the upcoming album, Rosenthal released an official music video for ‘A Dream’. You can view the video below and/or on his YouTube channel.
