The Bergamot – Where the Wind Blows (2022)

The Bergamot brought a contemporary sound to their synth-laden single ‘Burns’. Now, they are bringing an anthemic tone to the title track of their new album, ‘Where the Wind Blows’. Combining power pop with indie rock, the duo really showcase why they have been gaining attention from People Magazine and USA Today.

An amazing addition to the band’s growing musical catalogue, it is sure to become one of those songs that you can’t get enough of. Pouring their creativity and musical prowess into each note, Nathaniel Paul Hoff and Jillian Speece transport you into another world. One of the hottest emerging bands on the music scene, they are moving from strength to strength and we can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us.

‘Where the Wind Blows’ slowly warbles into life with a really laid-back and fun vibe. The music instantly puts a smile on your face and you can’t help lightly bopping your head to the movement. There is a hazy feeling to the melody created by the warble of the synths, while the shuffling drums are like warm sand beneath your feet. Through the melody, the duo brings a rather chilled summer feeling to the single. Later in the track, a slightly funky guitar line makes its way into the soundscape and twangs beautifully against the warm hazy vibes. As you listen to the melody, you will feel the pressure of life lifting off your shoulders and be replaced with the happy vibes of a sunny day.

While the melody meanders through the single with a chilled and laid-back vibe, the vocals are like a clear blue sky. The harmonised vocal performance is stunning as Hoff and Speece’s vocals combine to form a gentle breeze that stirs your hair and has you sighing with happiness. The flow of their performance has you relaxing on the warm sand of the beach while you soak up the easy vibes of a chilled day. As you are relaxing into the easy vibes, the lyrics urge us to let go of the past and enjoy everything that we have right now. The chorus is really catchy as it brings this message to the fore, while drawing you further into the easy flow of the track.

The Bergamot have you relaxing into their chilled sound and leaving your worries about the past in the past with ‘Where the Wind Blows’. From start to finish, the single has a chilled sunny vibe that instantly relaxes your muscles and lifts your worries. The vocals are beautifully harmonised and draw you further into the chilled vibes of the single.
