The Deep Hour – These Are My Streets (2026)
With a reputation for powerful vocals, intricate melodies, and a penchant for storytelling, singer-songwriter Brian O’Glanby delves into and celebrates life in its entirety. Vulnerable and emotional, but also optimistic and empowering, O’Glanby shares music that is introspective, earnest, and heartfelt. Hailing from Ireland, based in County Cork to be exact, this veteran musician has over 20 years in the industry, working with professionals such as Catriona Fallon, Wayne Sheehy, Robbie Malone, Trevor Hutchinson and Paul Linehan. Today, we’re taking a look and listen to O’Glanby’s project, The Deep Hour. Join us as we turn up the volume on ‘These Are My Streets’.
Following the well-received singles ‘The One’ and ‘Hurricane’, ‘These Are My Streets’ is a tender brush of indie-rock. Produced by Wayne Sheehy, the single is a rhythmic weave of Sheehy’s drums, Paul Linehan’s bass guitar, and O’Glanby’s guitar – all flowing in a rock-tinged harmony. For me, however, it is Sheehy’s driving piano that sprinkles some sophistication and flair to ‘These Are My Streets’. All elements are independent, but a wholeness exists, making the single warm, full, and rich.
Melodically, every note and moment brims with tranquillity and gentleness, but the lyricism makes it more profound. With O’Glanby’s honey-soaked vocals, which also contain a sense of ruggedness, ‘These Are My Streets’ is a song of nostalgia, belonging and change. Penned for the scatterlings, whether you’ve moved countries or cities, the track delves into the emotion behind simply returning home. The longing for something familiar, and feeling comfortable in that familiarity and those memories, is at the core of ‘These Are My Streets’; a theme so exquisitely captured in the melody, you can almost see those streets, the place you know, the place you belong.
Sincere, sentimental and honest, ‘These Are My Streets’ really struck a chord for me. I highly recommend The Deep Hour and look forward to the upcoming album.
In addition to the single, The Deep Hour plans to release a music video for ‘These Are My Streets’. As of yet, the video isn’t available, but you can enjoy a sneak peek trailer below and/or on The Deep Hour’s YouTube channel.
