Tom Tom Park – Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out) (2023)

We all love a good disco song, especially from the 80s, getting out those sparkly tops and platform shoes – it’s something both fantastic and cringe-worthy. When it comes to Tom Tom Park, we’re happy to move about and get groovy with his magical melodies. From his debut single ‘Revelation’ in 2021 to the most recent single ‘Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out)’, composer and producer Tom Tom Park teams up with notable singers, such as alt-rock sensation Will Burton, to create hypnotic electropop melodies dripping disco awesomeness.

Following his track ‘Baby’s Up To No Good’, Tom Tom Park collaborates with Mythic Neon in ‘Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out)’. Drawing together the best of electropop strong beats lead the track with sensational synths bringing up the rear. ‘Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out)’ can easily own club dancefloors, as well as being an anthemic dance number at festivals. While there is a strong Avicii flavour to the song, Tom Tom Park retains a uniqueness inserting the nostalgic flair of 80s disco into a modern-day EDM chanting. He finds that delicate line between old-school club and modern-day beats to tantalise our earbuds.

The melody can hold its own as a dancefloor hit but it is the lyricism (performed by Mythic Neon) that makes the song more profound. Touching on themes like self-empowerment and escapism in his music, ‘Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out)’ is a bittersweet anthem for self-discovery.

“’Still Alive’ is a song about self-help, there’s freedom in loving yourself first saying goodbye to your ex with the vow: “as long as I know how to dance you know I’m still alive” …know your worth and act like it by getting back in charge of your own life. Start calling the shots…the song is an ode to the bittersweet nature of change and getting helped by forces beyond your reach.” – Tom Tom Park on ‘Still Alive (Get Out, Get Out)’
