The Other Side Reviewstrack of the day

Track of the Day: Lost Fishes – Rising Day

Described as a “fresh alternative rock music band”, Spain-based foursome Lost Fishes are a band that blends both familiar sounds of old-school rock with fresher, newer, contemporary alt-rock. Hailing from Madrid, Lost Fishes began as friends jamming together to express themselves through music; however, it soon grew, and the band began establishing itself as a name in the Madrid underground scene. Yet, it is not only their live performances that can astound audiences, their in-studio releases are as impressive. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Rising Day’.

Following their single ‘Nothing’, ‘Rising Days’ has a bold, powerful rock-inspired sound. Alessandro Aramu melds his bass with the pounding drums of Javier Sanchez, and they are quickly joined by Luis Manzano’s dynamic lead guitar. The thing is, while the instrumentation has a harmonic unity, it is Manzano’s guitar solo that drags listeners back to 70s rock. Bring in the richness of Fabrizio Miazzetto’s vocals and you have a rock song to send your heart soaring.

Inspired by life experiences in general, Lost Fishes deliver strong messages of hope to their listeners.  Recorded and produced at Valley Rock Studio with producer Santiago Ruiz, ‘Rising Day’ touches on the struggles of reality and the desperate need to cope in these stressful situations. The thing is, while there is a melancholic, almost despairing undercurrent to the song’s concept, Lost Fishes aims to point out that shining light at the end of the tunnel.

“’Rising Day’ talks about everyday life, the difficulties and fear that our society produces in individuals from the very moment they wake up. At the same time, the lyrics remind us how easy it is to return to an emotional balance and happiness thanks to a simple hug from a loved one. Just look for it every day!” – Lost Fishes on ‘Rising Day’.
