Based in Bristol, Louisa Maria is a lovely lady with serious music skills and an attitude to boot. Trained as a classical pianist, Louisa made her name with a PRS guitar in the power-rock band Tequila Mockingbyrd. Moving from London to busking in Leicester Square and making money off Tequila Mockingbyrd gigs, Louisa Maria is now breaking out with her solo career. Using loop stations, keys and her trusty guitar, she bears a close likeness to pop sensations Billie Eilish and Ed Sheeran. Her latest single is ‘One Lump of Sugar’.
Described as having an Alice In Wonderland vibe, ‘One Lump of Sugar’ is exactly what you’d expect to be playing at the Mad Hatter’s tea party. Upbeat, bouncy and sugary sweet, the track demonstrates Louisa Maria’s playful vocals. It’s something I’d highly recommend if you want something fantastically classy but with a strong contemporary vibe.
“I want it to motivate people into pursuing something that they want to do but might not feel comfortable doing in real life. Sit back and get lost in the music while creating your own fantasy world. It could be about absolutely anything you want with any outcome you desire.” – Louisa Maria on ‘One Lump of Sugar’
‘One Lump of Sugar’ is the first single of two which will be followed by an EP Tea for Two which is due for release at the beginning of July 2020.
