Träšhbag – My White Van (2026)

Pushing egos aside, bonding over a mutual love for music, and digging deep into their earnest philosophy of having fun and not taking themselves too seriously, Richard Jonathan Zap Dickson (vocals and bass) and Pijus Furmaniukas (drums) passionately create music as the duo Träšhbag. Already established as a power player in Ireland’s underground scene, the “volatile blend of visceral noise-rock and post-punk” might be referred to as a collision of Primus and Idles, but their sound is unmistakably Träšhbag. Join us as we dive into this musical journey with their debut single, ‘My White Van’.

While Träšhbag is a new band to our ears, Furmaniukas and Dickson already have experience behind their names performing in various bands, and sometimes standing in for one another in said bands. With ‘My White Van’, the Dublin-based pair strip things back, bare all, and embrace an instinctual understanding of each other’s musicality.

Produced by the duo, with mastering duties by Nick Burchall, ‘My White Van’ is a hard-hitting punch between the eyes from the outset. A blaring beat of crashing drums whirls about you in a tumultuous weave of music that blocks out the sun. A scorching bass slices across this sonic wall, enhancing the force of the track. However, while you seem to lose yourself in the crazed sound, looking for a way to escape, that overwhelming bearing down on your chest isn’t all that bad. In fact, it’s quite liberating in a way.

Dickson’s vocals enhance the rambunctious recklessness of the track, piercing the musical veil with a punk-driven shout. Gritty and gruff, with a ruggedness that pierces the skin, ‘My White Van’ has a cinematic soundscape, but Dickson’s voice brings it crashing into a palpable ball of tension.

Given this review and description, you would probably imagine ‘My White Van’ to be a two-and-a-half-minute push into an underground cavern. Yet, as much as they hold you close and wrap you tight, that liberation and strong feeling of freedom exists; you can scream along and feel completely refreshed.

Brash, abrupt and not for the faint-hearted, Träšhbag’s debut is the heavy hangover after a night of tequila shots. I like it.
