Aza Brown – Sticky Situations (2022)

A regular artist on The Other Side Reviews, Aza Brown has been on our radar from his debut single ‘Pure Water’ to the track ‘Afterthought’. The thing is, we are not the only ones singing this natural talent’s praises. Along with us, Brown has featured on Top Music, Rock Era Magazine, YMX, Rising Artists Blog, York Calling, Motion News and Indie O’ Clock (to name a few), and don’t forget the playlist and radio coverage. The latest addition to Aza Brown’s critically acclaimed discography is ‘Sticky Situations’.

Following the well-received single ‘Afterthought’, Aza Brown adopts a soft and soothing sound with ‘Sticky Situations’. Unlike previous material that tossed you into a sonic swirl twirling about at a dizzying speed, the new track hugs you close with its comfortable melody. Well-textured with a bit of a folksy flair twinkled over an indie-pop tone, there is a light-hearted toe-tapping nature to the song. Yet, it is Brown’s vocals that really add sentimental smoothness throughout the melodic arrangement.

With a couple of decades in the music industry, one could expect that Aza Brown has a sophisticated understanding of creating music – and this is totally evident in his new track ‘Sticky Situations’. A sophisticated tone is adopted throughout the melody with a sentimentality heard in the dulcet vocals. The thing is, while a mature tone is present in the tune, a somewhat naïve passion is subtly woven into this sonic tapestry. Personally, I love it!

As with the majority of Brown’s music, the new single is anthemic, cinematic and one that can easily ensnare an audience’s senses at a sold-out show. If you didn’t know about Aza Brown before this review, then you should definitely pay more attention and enjoy the sonic sweetness that is Aza Brown.
