Bliss Carmxn – One Shot (2026)
Sometimes you just need a loud and joyful single that you can get lost in. Luckily for all of us, Bliss Carmxn has just what we need with ‘One Shot’. Against a backdrop of pounding piano and indie pop joy, he delves into the theme of being let back in, whether this is a place, a self or that Friday night with friends that seems to have continued while you were out. Packed with the conviction that all pleasure is worth taking seriously, the single will have you shouting out and getting lost in the energy.
As potentially the loudest and most energetic track Bliss Carmxn has ever made, this single is a standout that draws on a number of influences. It is also the third single from his EP, Open Love, which showcases his abilities across genres from folk Americana to heavy synth pop. Moving in that space between introspective storytelling and get-on-the-dance-floor energy, his music is captivating from the first second.
The vocals surround you in the opening of the track, before directing your attention to the story of the lyrics. There is a slightly nostalgic touch to the music at the start as it taps into older theatrical notes. This is dropped from the music as you head further into the lyrics and the piano line starts to run under your feet. The chorus is infectious and has a joyful feeling to it as the music flickers like the twirl of a glitterball.
Throughout the single, that piano line continues to light the way deeper into the music. Dancing over everything is an indie pop brightness that lifts your spirits and fills you with the urge to grab onto something before it slips through your fingers. While the lyrics tell the tale of the disco queen who has forgotten the words, there is something more to them that makes the single very relatable. The lyrics are also incredibly catchy and will have you singing along to the chorus almost instantly.
While this isn’t a song that instantly blares its way into your ears, it is one that you are going to want to turn up when you listen. The energy woven into each word and note is infectious and built to be shared with everyone around you.
