Crossing i’s Dotting t’s – Little Things (Goodnight) (2020)

Fast, furious and slightly overwhelming (but in a good way), Matt Mucerino is back with ‘Little Things (Goodnight)’. Formed in late-2020, Crossing i’s Dotting t’s is the solo project of US-based singer-songwriter Matt Mucerino, but he does get some help from bassist/drummer Mat Miranda to flesh out his music. While the act is still a very new endeavour, Crossing i’s Dotting t’s is gaining global recognition for his angsty, honest and intriguing sound with features on The A&R Factory and Two Story Melody. One of the latest additions to his growing discography is the single ‘Little Things (Goodnight)’.

“This song is about the lack of individuality in people and how I’m overwhelmed with my emotions and handling everything that goes on in the day-to-day world.” – Matt Mucerino on ‘Litle Things (Goodnight)’

Recorded at Calfornia-based Vulcanic Studioz with renowned producer Vulcho Bonez, ‘Little Things (Goodnight)’ is a powerful punch in the gut. Using his distinctive 90s pop-rock meets punk-rock with emo undertones, Mucerino shares an aggressive but melodious one-minute of music. Touching on elements of individuality, frustration and hopelessness, the new single exposes the vulnerability of Mucerino with raw and honest lyricism. Yet, it is not only the lyrics that make one sit up and pay attention but the harmonic sound of this punk anthem.

While punk-rock and emo are typically brash in style with distorted guitars and brusque vocals, Crossing i’s Dotting t’s throws that playbook out to bring a sense of cohesiveness to the angsty track. Yes, the track is aggressive and somewhat frenzied; however, Mucerino showcases his innovativeness and skill with a sense of controlled chaos in ‘Little Things (Goodnight)’. Emotional, fiery and filled with forcefulness, Mucerino’s latest single is a soul-stirring slap to the face.
