The brainchild of UK-based producer and songwriter Jonny Amos, Glow Beets is a sonic representation of joy, happiness and positivity. Formed in 2019 alongside the launch of Glow Beets Sample Label, the EDM project began touching on elements of, well, life with his releases. Featured on YMX, Reignland Magazine, Rightsify, BBC Radio Introducing, RGM and various other sites, the Birmingham artist is reaching listeners on an international level. The latest from his growing discography is ‘Hold My Head High’.
Described by YMX as “…indefinitely secured his place in the EDM world”, Glow Beets is making a substantial impact on listeners. Following his well-received single, ‘It’s All In The Mind’, ‘Hold My Head High’ is another dance sensation. In my opinion, the harmony between EDM beats and soft, dulcet vocals connects with audiences from various genres. This showcases not only Glow Beets’ innovativeness and versatility, but his engaging nature.
While the strong beats are prominent, there is a smoothness in the rich vocals. Touching on elements of mental health, the personal narrative emphasises the artist’s vulnerability in an elegant manner. Moreover, ‘Hold My Head High’ speaks to listeners promoting mental health awareness and creative empathy.
The third single off his upcoming debut EP Mind Games, ‘Hold My Head High’ is brutally honest, insightful, sincere and sentimental. The synth-infused melody has a “stay in the present” bop, but there is a lingering optimism carrying through to the future (or rather you can’t get it out of your head for hours to come). Overall, I like the track and look forward to Glow Beets’ EP.
In addition to his single, Glow Beets released a lyric video for ‘Hold My Head High’. Due to the lighting effects that can cause seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, I was unable to view the video. Please watch at your own discretion.
