Jim Loeffler’s Electric Orbit – Clocks On The Wheels (2023)

They constantly say that life should be a learning experience, look at hindsight as a chance to learn from your mistakes and achievements. In reality, hindsight can be horrid as you dwell on regrets or brilliant as you enjoy the positives. For Jim Loeffler, “life is about looking back so you have an idea of what tomorrow may bring…” Raised in a musical home with his mother having a professional singing career and his father being a self-taught musician, music has always been a part of his life. Skip ahead to the present day, and Loeffler is making waves as Jim Loeffler’s Electric Orbit.

Despite having only four singles to his name, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Loeffler is turning heads across the globe with coverage from Music For All, Sinusoidal Music and Edgar Allan Poets (to name just a few). Following his 2022 tracks ‘Ready Fire Aim!’ and ‘Six Ways From Someday’, the US-based artist brings us ‘Clocks On The Wheels’ – his first release in 2023.

The third song from his upcoming album, ‘Clocks On The Wheels’ is Loeffler’s first release in 2023. Inspired by life in its totality, his album “has one foot in the past and one foot in the future…” ‘Clocks On The Wheels’ explores the side of youthful innocence, the joy of young love and optimism of future endeavours. Loeffler explains: “’Clocks On The Wheels’ is about the promise of youth and the anticipation that comes with being in love. You can do anything”.

A self-produced single from the first lyrics to the final DIY flair, Jim Loeffler is a completely independent musician. Is this one of the reasons for the rawness of his melodies and rugged innocence oozing forth? Not sure, but what I do know is there is a sophistication belying the raw rock and roll ‘Clocks On The Wheels’. From the first chord, he hits you with pounding drums and bold guitars confidently played in a hard-hitting track. With a slight leaning toward The Ataris, the song takes you on a relentless rollercoaster ride of music with a nostalgic nudge back to 90s rock.

Sincere and heart-warming but with a mind-numbing ferocity, Jim Loeffler’s Electric Orbit sends you to the moon in a sparking case of electricity with ‘Clocks On The Wheels’.
