Kaitlin Corbett Jones – Make The World Stand Still (2026)
At only 8 years of age, Kaitlin Corbett Jones was already showing promise as a remarkable vocalist. She began formal vocal training at this young age, with her great range and natural instincts made her a stand-out singer. By the age of 10, the US-based singer-songwriter was already performing at national events beyond her native state of Wisconsin, with praise as one of the most promising singers at that time. Skip ahead some years, and Jones graduated from the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Skip ahead a little more, and Jones was performing on competition stages, including winning FOX 10’s Arizona Idol. Now, rush forward to today, and she has received notable reviews for her original releases with an international audience in tow. Join us as we delve into her single, ‘Make The World Stand Still’.
Produced by Scott Zambardi, with mixing by Joel Parker, ‘Make The World Stand Still’ showcases Jones’ skill in bridging the gap between classical and contemporary pop music. In fact, she doesn’t just find the sweet spot, she smudges and whirls classical and contemporary in a great, big, bright sonic pool. ‘Make The World Stand Still’ leans strongly toward the best of 90s pop as Jones’ powerful vocals dance across a charming melody. Yet, while her voice is forceful, the shivers down your arms and the stealing of your breath are not in the force or boldness, but in that delicate, fairy-like execution.
Kaitlin Corbett Jones is a voice to be remembered, but the instrumentation is as winning. Soft, soothing, and exuding simplicity, even though the production is kaleidoscopic in its intricacy, ‘Make The World Stand Still’ pairs a driving piano with anchoring drums. The crescendo of a rock-tinged guitar near the end adds edginess; you face a glittering angel, but don’t think she’s entirely sugary sweetness.
Sincere, tender, and heartwarming, but with a strange iciness clipping the air, Jones really does make the world stand still with ‘Make The World Stand Still’.
