Karlo Bromsen – Parlin Papito (2026)
Karlo Bromsen is no newcomer to the music scene as the voice of the indie-tronic act Bromsen, but he is now branching out with his first solo single. ‘Parlin Papito’ is more than an introduction to Bromsen as a solo artist; it is also the introduction of the character Papito. A tiny hand-drawn cartoon, he is based on the drawings of Bromsen’s son and popped out of a corked bottle to enter a surreal world.
The single itself is a combination of playful pop energy and electronic elements with melodic songwriting. As quirky as the character that inspired it, the single is packed with offbeat storytelling, which is only made better by the accompanying music video. There is also an ongoing TikTok mini-series that expands on Papito’s world, which is more than worth a look as you dive into this engaging world.
The single has Papito popping into the world in the first second, and he is joined by Bromsen’s vocals. The vocals create the fun sense of the single before the more electronic elements join in. There is an almost nonsensical feeling to the lyrics, but strangely, when you listen to this track while watching the video, it all makes sense. If you aren’t watching the video, the song has this quirky vibe to it that is still really enjoyable.
The music starts to pick up as the song continues and fills you with electronic dance vibes that make you want to move around. It is, in general, a fun song that is a bit of an earworm and will get stuck in your head. You may find yourself singing ‘Parlin Papito’ to yourself for a long time after the song ends. Whether you are listening to the track with the video or blaring it as a way to have fun, this is a song that you don’t want to miss out on.
It is recommended that you watch the video while listening to the song, at least the first time around. The hand-drawn characters add to the storytelling of the track and really showcase the character-driven narrative of the song. Through the video, we are introduced to Papito and follow him around his little animated world. We meet new characters and see the start of Papito’s journey, which is expanded in the TikTok series.
