Kylan Chetty – Flower (2020)

‘Flower’ by Kylan Chetty is a love song inspired by a beautiful woman he met on Miami Beach and fell in love with. The pair hit it off immediately and Chetty was filled with the creative drive to write a song for her. A fusion of his usual pop sound with some house, the track is a showcase of the emotions each invokes in the other.

As Chetty wrote, recorded and produced the song himself, you can feel the emotions of the track very clearly. While the song has a very personal story and inspiration, there is a lot that anyone can connect with. If you are looking for a love song with a bit of sexual tension thrown in, this just might be the song you want.

‘Flower’ has this infectious driving opening full of a strumming guitar before you are hit with some electronic bursts. The beat has you bounding to it whether you are sitting at your desk or listening while out and about. There is something infectious about the melody that you can’t help but want to move to. The combination of house elements with the acoustic guitar-driven lines is excellently executed so each element shines.

Chetty’s vocals seem to weave between the notes of the melody. His voice comes in strong at the start of the song to draw you into the lyrics before his performance gets an atmospheric boost. His voice then seems to come from behind the melody before weaving its way to the front and back again. As is voice moves around, his performance brings the emotions of the track from that first click to desire.

Drawing on real-life, Kylan Chetty has you moving to the beat of his love song ‘Flower’. The driving melody has you bouncing it its tones while his vocals weave between the notes. The song is a full discovery of emotions from the initial click between people to the desire they invoke.
