Louise Aubrie – Midnight Calls (2026)

With over a decade of writing and recording in the music industry, singer-songwriter Louise Aubrie is not necessarily a newbie on the scene. With a shimmering light and soulful sheen, the London native has released several critically acclaimed albums and singles, performed extensively at renowned live venues, recorded with music professionals including Keith Scott, Solomon Walker, and Charlie Paxson, and, all the while, steadily building an international fanbase. While Aubrie is a Brit, she currently has a transatlantic life, splitting her time between New York, Los Angeles and London, whereby she draws on the different cultures in her confident, emotional, honest melodic stories. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Midnight Calls’.

The first release since her 2022 single ‘Bang’, or at least according to Spotify, ‘Midnight Calls’ marks a new chapter in Aubrie’s musical journey. Taken from her upcoming studio album LFA, recorded and produced at East West Studios in Hollywood by Ken Sluiter, ‘Midnight Calls’ is a song of change and self-discovery. Capturing the intricate emotions felt while living between two diverse cultures and countries, Aubrie taps into and unpicks the uncertainty, confusion, and anxiety of moving home; however, a sense of empowerment, resilience and strength flutters through. Lines like, “we’re walking in the small horse, dreaming up something absurd/ and as they stop and stare, we smile, we’re alive with the songbirds…” dip into the vibrant excitement of change, yet “So give me the phone, and let’s disappear/ To some place that’s better than here…” turns the two-sided coin on its head.

Just as the lyrics delve into life’s complexities, the melody perfectly elocutes that slight muddlement in a hard-hitting pop-rock tune. Thrashing drums, scorching guitars, and a dynamic bass belie Aubrie’s bold vocals, hitting you between the eyes while still grabbing you and holding you close to navigate this swirl of gritty music. With the promise of an upcoming album, I am eager to hear more from this talented musician. Until then, I’ll enjoy her back catalogue…on repeat.

In addition to the single, Louise Aubrie released an official music video for ‘Midnight Calls’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
