Lyndo Jaco – All over again (2026)
From tinkering away in his garage to sailing through the headphones of international listeners, singer-songwriter Lyndo Jaco brings old-school rock to modern-day audiences. Hailing from Australia, Adelaide to be exact, the “recluse rocker” offers a new breath to the Australian music scene, while being rooted in classic rock stylings. This is my introduction to Jaco, but he’s been hitting the airwaves – well, at least Spotify and Soundcloud – since 2025, beginning with his debut single, ‘What ya hiding’. Skip ahead several months, and he brings us a new single, ‘All over again’. Joining us as we jump headfirst into the track.
Self-produced at his home studio – a room overlooking a veggie patch – ‘All over again’ is a quick drag back to the realm of 1970s rock. While the multi-instrumentalist brings a hard-hitting rock vibe to our ears with crashing drums, a bold bass, and soaring, scorching guitar, ‘All over again’ is simultaneously in-your-face and soothing calm. Energetic and confident in one way, but not urgent or frenzied… simply a rock song with that all-encompassing ease where you just sit back and listen.
Just as the track has a chilled-out vibe with classic rock leanings, ‘All over again’ has an almost mundane, repetitive overlay that perfectly aligns with the theme. A song about facing life’s achievements, satisfaction and willingness to face it all again, Jaco explains: “All over again’ is a story about people going through the motions of their ideals; the hard yards done. When all is finished, they are quite happy to do it all over again.”
What do I mean, there’s a repetitiveness? Well, it’s mostly expressed in Jaco’s vocals. Almost routine, generic, and a plod of words just being said, the vocals aren’t rich or warm… just there. Not obscure or unwanted, merely a clever arrangement to emphasise how we made it through the challenges, reached the top, and will do it all over again. Is it encouraging or intriguing? Perhaps, but you need to seriously consider the lyrics to fully appreciate his execution.
Do I like ‘All over again’? It’s an enjoyable push-and-pull between eagerness and commonplace; however, for me, it’ll probably fall to the wayside.
