Stacey Dineen – Stay (2026)

Should you take a shine to the likes of pop superstars Tayler Swift and Miley Cyrus, the chances are you’ll connect with Stacey Dineen. Hailing from Limerick, the Irish singer-songwriter stepped out at only 19 years old, exploring various roles of creative expression. From modelling to television and music, Dineen turns heads across Ireland, the UK and much further beyond; in fact, she was the youngest winner of global reality series The Fashion Hero, working alongside AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys. Yet, her passion is music. Today, Dineen reaches our ears with her latest single, ‘Stay’.

Following her singles ‘Dizzy’ and ‘Ghost Of You’, Dineen once again delves into the complexities of relationships and love with ‘Stay’. Penned almost a year after a significant break-up, the track is raw, vulnerable, and sits with listeners as a few minutes of understanding, comfort, and knowing you aren’t alone with all those confusing, frustrating emotions. She explains:

“I wrote it around the same time I was healing fully from that relationship and the ending of it; only then could I see clearly what it was. I was in my bedroom journaling, and I saw an old photo of us and realised that I looked so happy, but it wasn’t all smiles. It was that night I wrote ‘Stay’. The track means a lot to me because it’s a staple of a very important time in my life. This was the breakup that changed my entire outlook on love, and what I did and didn’t want, and what mistakes to not repeat. It’s a reminder that you don’t always stay in that stomach-sick feeling.”

Formed over three years at different locations – beginning in Limerick with producer Patrick O’Donnell, mixed and mastered in London by Jay Jacobs, and completed in Cork by Gary Keane – ‘Stay’ is a contemporary pop melody with well-layered sounds capturing Dineen’s raw emotion and vulnerability. Ghostly haunting breathes from the bold beats and shimmering synths like an eerie air to the sonic forest you find yourself in. Yet, while there is an odd chill of vulnerability, Dineen’s rich vocals lead the way; a hand and smile holding you say, “it’s alright, we’ve got this!”
