My Glass World – We’re All The Same (2026)

In a rather odd way, the UK-based duo My Glass World’s band name is perfect. For me, their music is like taking a step into another world – their world – with shimmering lights reflecting off the glass. No fear of pointed shards piercing your skin, merely a warm, comfortable glass world where you travel along an eclectic wash of pop, rock, classical and jazz music. Today, we’re taking the duo’s hands to walk along their latest single, ‘We’re All The Same’

Following their single ‘River Of Light’, ‘We’re All The Same’ is… well, in a word, obscure. Produced by Jamie Telford and Sean Read, the track has the quintessential blush of an alternative rock song: Martyn Kaine’s drums beating in the background, with Jimi Scandal’s electric guitar skipping along, and Telford’s keyboards peeking out here and there. Yet, a jazz-induced vibe seems to grab hold and squeeze with Ali Friend’s acoustic stand-up bass anchoring the track, and Read’s sexy sax adding a sensual breeze that can get your toe tapping.

The track has an intriguing melody, but it is the arrangement of Telford’s vocals atop the instrumentation that adds an eclectic edge; not moving with the instruments, but rather dancing atop them. The vocals hold prominence, acting like someone speaking to a group of people, yet still aware of the lingering tune.

One quote that has remained with me is that of Tyler Durden in Fight Club: “You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You’re the same decaying organic matter as everything else.” I guess, in some way, My Glass World’s ‘We’re All The Same’ carries the same message; the idea that everyone is the same with no difference at our core. Moreover, the significance of knowing that this similarity can be hopeful, optimistic and sincere. Telford shares: “In a world of individuals, I think it’s good to be reminded that we are, in fact, all the same.”
