Tale Of Giants – Somewhere (2026)
The brainchild of singer-songwriter Javier Martinez, Tale Of Giants is an acoustic solo project that can move people with evocative melodies and poetic lyricism. Not necessarily physical moving, but more emotional and intimate… unless you’ve been to one of Martinez’s live shows or choose to sway along while streaming his songs, in which case he can move you physically and emotionally. Since his debut EP, Still Learning To Love You, in 2019 – or at least according to Spotify – Tale Of Giants has turned heads, featuring on international podcasts, radio stations, publications, and constantly earning a following with extensive touring. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Somewhere’.
Self-recorded and produced, ‘Somewhere’ is Tale Of Giants’ first release in three years following his 2023 EP, Hold Me Tight. A concoction of bold acoustic guitar and dynamic drums, the single flows with a soothing, calming gentleness; a sweep of music elegantly travelling across the horizon as you sigh deeply. Yet, while this is a mellifluous and tranquil tune, the arrangement is a push-and-pull of emotion, where brash, abrupt drum kicks and quick twangs simultaneously rush forth and hold back in apprehension. This is particularly intriguing as ‘Somewhere’ is a song of deep self-discovery and reflection – concepts that run from easy and charming to profound questioning.

A refined, polished two-and-a-half minutes of acoustic music, ‘Somewhere’ showcases the powerful effect of a completely bare-bones single. You don’t need bells and whistles to really capture those deeper thoughts, feelings, and existence. All you need is a good tune, a warm voice, and the thread of connection. ‘Somewhere’ is a perfect example, and I am eager to hear more from Tale Of Giants.
