The Graft – Little (2026)

Liverpool band, The Graft, release their first single in their own name rebranding from Jamie Higgs, who had one of the finest Scouse tracks of last year with ‘Peace In Your Sound’. Their newest track, ‘Little’, is another absolute anthem with fantastic grooves and Noel Gallagher-esque guitars.

What hits you about this track is the alluring electric guitars provided by Eddie Ponting. There is a passionate vocal from frontman Jamie Higgs, who doesn’t hold back. There is a lush bass from Zak Langford-Do, which keeps the track flowing nicely and great bits of drumming from Jack Hannon. Another characteristic is the dense, layered production and the welcome addition of tambourines and keys. This is a band which is totally in sync with one another. The Graft is starting to make a name in their hometown and beyond.

‘Little’ was written from a place of honesty and self-reflection and tackles the struggles we encounter in our daily lives. Higgs explains, “Sometimes we feel closer to where we want to be, and sometimes we feel miles away. Somewhere in this song is the acknowledgement, if we can be happy with a little, we gain a lot”.

Songwriting comes easy to Higgs once the melody and chords are in place. Lyrics like the opening, “It only takes a little / To get on by / Breakin’ out of habits / So much more stronger than I“, are simple but yet subjective, which is exactly what The Graft wanted to achieve.

Higgs, known for his great stage presence, was always a solo artist before forming The Graft. He prefers his newly found role as frontman and is relishing the camaraderie with people he views more as mates. The Graft have received favourable comparisons to the likes of Oasis, Cast and Richard Ashcroft. ‘Little’ is receiving sizeable backing from the Liverpool music scene, being played by Dave Monks on BBC Introducing and earning Track Of The Week on In Demand Radio.

The Graft is coming up with a Scouse anthem upon every release. ‘Little’ is an uplifting tune ready built for live audiences. What we have is another impressive release from one of the best up-and-coming bands in Liverpool.
