The Radio Addicts – Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s (2026)

Hot on the heels of a whirlwind year of high-powered performances, energetic gigs alongside The Lottery Winners, and frontman Luke Cardwell even meeting Bruce Springsteen, The Radio Addicts are quickly becoming one of the most exciting new bands in Bolton. Bringing a real oomph to the UK rock scene, Cardwell (vocals and guitar), Daniel Wayland (guitar), Jonathan Wayland (bass guitar), and Vincent Sanderson (drums) might have only three singles to their discography – according to Spotify – but they’re turning heads every which way. The latest single from the quartet is ‘Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s’.

In the days before TikTok, memes, Spotify, cat videos, even MySpace – yes, I’m going back really far – people brought the madness with raves, radios, CDs, and MTV (when they actually played music videos). They rocked the party with platform heels, chokers, plaid miniskirts, spaghetti strap dresses, and bounced to the sounds of Nirvana, Green Day, Christina Aguilera and Alanis Morissette. Following well-received tracks, ‘Before My Eyes’ and ‘Scroll My Life Away’, The Radio Addicts capture that 90s culture in their new release.

Produced by Andy Hawkins at The Kaiser Chiefs’ Studio, The Nave, ‘Let’s Party Like It’s the 90s’ is just under three minutes of raucous pop-punk music. In some strange way, listening to ‘Let’s Party Like The 90s’ is like being shoved into one of those 90s house parties. The drums may be crashing, yet they act like that anchoring “designated driver” keeping the pace. A bass circles the dancefloor, creeping in with some bold step. The guitar soars across like the lad people want to talk to, but aren’t brave enough to approach – there’s always one. Add Cardwell’s rich vocals, and you finish things with the cheeky kid winking, grinning and upping the fun factor.

While ‘Let’s Party Like It’s The 90s’ has that rambunctious pop-punk appeal, it is, in fact, quite subdued. It’s easy-listening; a wash of rock music taking you on a ride instead of hitting you in the face. It’s the party where you don’t get too drunk and fall over with the chance – no, certainty – of a hangover. The party you remember and never want to forget.
