Wild Horse – Moments (2026)

With consistent support from international media – including 14 consecutive ‘Track of the Day’ releases on BBC Introducing – Wild Horse has established themselves as a trailblazing act on the UK indie scene. Known for confident performances, powerful melodies, and a high-energy presence, Jack Baldwin, Henry Baldwin, Ed Barnes, and Jade Snowden relentlessly bring their music to an entranced global audience. Yet, while Wild Horse might fall on the indie spectrum, their genre diversity is expansive as they saunter through funk, indie-rock, Britpop and pop-rock. Today, we turn up the volume on their most recent release, ‘Moments’.

Following the 2025 single ‘Magpies’, ‘Moments’ sees Wild Horse brush their indie-rock vibes with a country/Americana sonic veil. Yes, I still hear a hint of Oasis in their music, but this is primarily due to the strong British inflexion on frontman Jack Baldwin’s rich vocals. Then again, despite the tint of Oasis, Wild Horse’s sound is entirely Wild Horse, explaining the continued support from the BBC.

Baldwin’s vocals certainly dance across ‘Moments’, driving the track with individuality, but the instrumentation is as powerful as the honey-soaked voice. Entwined in a harmonic musical concoction, a smooth keyboard steps along the soaring guitar, and an anchoring drum keeps time in the background. Easy on the ears, languid, soothing and calm, ‘Moments’ has a way of gently holding your hand with a brilliant sparkle. However, there is also a sense of vulnerability and delicacy as the track picks away at intimate emotions. Wild Horse explain:

“The track explores the breakdown of a relationship, driven by the realisation that there was never anything truly holding it together. At its core, ‘Moments’ is about perspective – reframing something falling apart into something understood, turning confusion into clarity, and ultimately arriving at acceptance and forward movement.”

Brimming with earnest sincerity, ‘Moments’ is a song made for those quiet afternoons as you sit back with a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit. If this is how Wild Horse begins 2026, I am eager to see what else the year holds.
