Andrei British (ft Bec Hollcraft) – Alien Jazz Girl (2026)
Finding that sweet spot between old-school rock music and fluttering flecks of a futuristic ambience, Andrei British writes songs that ”…cinematic, hypnotic and a little dangerous”. A warm feeling of familiarity and nostalgia, but with that tempting allure of the unknown, the US_based musician picks you up and drops you onto the “digital-age… cyberpunk skyline.” With 2026’s ‘Pure Digital Love’, British introduced us to a magnetic, seductive, intriguing blonde cyborg woman who is “equal parts heart-breaker and luck-fetcher…” We meet up with the sensual siren in the latest addition to his discography, ‘Alien Jazz Girl’.
Following the single ‘South Florida Police’, ‘Alien Jazz Girl’ shifts from the rub of rock to a full-on shower of vintage jazz. Produced by Andrei British, the track pulls you into the jazz club of Sade’s ‘Smooth Operator’ – including the haze of smokes, scotch at the ready, and an almost creepiness in its overall temptation. Talking about inspiration, British shares: “Ever since I heard ‘Cantina Band’ by John Williams, I always thought it would be nice to hear a jazz girl singing in this distant cantina and how it would sound.”
While the setting of ‘Alien Jazz Girl’ is a jazz club, the groove of the track is larger, smoother, and clips at a bigger band performing behind the cyborg siren. Drums keep a steady beat that gets your toe tapping, while a shimmering piano has you slinking your shoulders, and a sensational saxophone slices, slides and swerves across, placing a bit of a smile and raised eyebrow on your face. In full harmony, you know this is a song made for the underground but has the appeal of a stadium-ready anthem.
Melodically, ‘Alien Jazz Girl’ has a kaleidoscopic charm, but it is Bec Hollcraft’s sensual vocals that up the sexiness factor. Husky and whispering, but with the clarity of a trained singer, she makes ‘Alien Jazz Girl’ rather tempting, like a young lady calling you out with a glint of danger in her eyes and a cheeky smile on her face.
