Blind Man’s Daughter – Say It Again (2026)

While our last review of Blind Man’s Daughter was the 2025 single ‘Harbor Boulevard’, the US-based singer-songwriter has by no means sat back on her laurels, and her distinctive sound keeps us coming back for more. One might mention that Blind Man’s Daughter (also known as Ashley Wolfe) leans toward an alternative pop stance, but there is so much more to her music and persona. Instead of one genre, she embraces various genres that might collide yet retain cohesive dignity in her soaring vocals and dynamic arrangements. Join us as we dip into her most recent release, ‘Say It Again’.

Following the well-received single ‘Hero’, ‘Say It Again’ retains a strong obscurity in its melody, yet shifts from the almost country-flecked alternative pop of ‘Hero’ to more cinematic, progressive pop sounds. Self-penned, composed and produced, all of Blind Man’s Daughter’s songs are true labours of love, and this is no different in ‘Say It Again’. While polished and elegant, you can hear raw passion oozing from each electronic beat and shimmering synths. Moreover, an earnest zeal bursts from the obtuse vocals, simultaneously off-kilter and honed for a particular, signature style.

I’m not entirely sure how to describe the effect of ‘Say It Again’. Dynamic, no doubt, with a stirring sense of delight, passion and intimacy; however, an odd disconcerted tilt exists in the track. It’s just a bit uncomfortable. Blind Man’s Daughter’s vocals once again soar across the melody, filling your heart with the bold richness; then, in the same breath, it’s as if she isn’t quite hitting the mark.

For me, ‘Say It Again’ is an odd, definitely alternative four minutes of music. The lyricism is what saves the song. Almost like reading a diary entry of a young girl hopelessly in love, living in the illusion of being wanted and adored – “I don’t want the truth tonight / Just tell me what I want / Say it again…”. Emotional and weighty in this way but not in others, ‘Say It Again’ is, for me, not something I’ll place on repeat. I think I’ll head back a few songs and listen to Blind Man’s Daughter’s previous work as I wait for more.
